Outdoor activities push students outside their comfort zones. Whether they’re navigating a trail, paddling a canoe, climbing a rock face, or cooking a meal for their group, students gain a sense of responsibility and independence. These hands-on experiences help them discover what they’re capable of—and leave with a stronger sense of self-confidence.
Outdoor education naturally creates space for collaboration. Students learn to lead and support each other through group challenges, cooperative problem-solving, and shared goals. From managing group dynamics to taking turns making decisions, these moments help them grow into thoughtful leaders and reliable teammates.

The original outdoor activity, bushwalking allows students to submerse themselves in their natural surroundings. From mountain peaks to river paths, groups navigate through a variety of environments, with the promise of a stunning vista around every corner.

Working in pairs in our 2-seat craft, canoeing is an ideal activity for all ages and can help develop communication and teamwork. Whether it’s canoe skills and games or a journey across a lake or down a river, canoeing gives participants a perspective that can’t be gained on land.

From flat rail trails to single track mountain bike routes, biking provides versatility that not many activities can offer. After learning safe riding techniques, its off on a pedal powered journey over mountains or through valleys. This activity provides a great opportunity for individual challenge and building self-esteem.

Teamwork, excitement and river safety are all aspects involved in a white-water rafting experience. Raft trips provide a feeling of adventure and excitement whilst maintaining the highest level of student safety.

Rock climbing and abseiling encourages students to stretch their comfort zone as they are faced with new physical and mental challenges. Students will gain a new respect and trust in themselves, the equipment and their belay partners whilst reaching their individual goals.

Students will be challenged to think outside the box and work together as a team to reach their common goals. Some activities will challenge their senses, some their comfort levels and others a bit of both.

Students will be instructed on knot tying techniques then given barrels, wooden planks and lengths of rope to create their craft, with the aim of staying afloat! Students will develop co-operation, innovation, creativity, leadership as well as teamwork skills.

Remaining primarily on the surface, snorkelling gives students a view into another world of marine flora and fauna. With instruction and supervision on how to use their snorkelling equipment, they may even see a weedy sea dragon.

Where bushwalking and snow are combined. Our instructors can take the students on a winter wonderland walking adventure at one of Victoria’s snow fields.

This educational session is designed as an exploration of a marine environment whereby students gain a deeper understanding of the area they are in and an understanding of tides and their function, as well as the diversity of marine flora and fauna.

Upon finding their equipment tub and water drum teams must use their initiative, leadership and problem-solving skills to build a shelter, ration their food and keep the group safe while camping overnight in the bush. This activity creates the impression of having to fend for themselves, in a completely controlled environment.

Students will be met by surf lifesaving instructors and broken into small groups on the beach. They will learn how to identify a rip and get out of one if caught. Basic surf lifesaving techniques for first aid and rescue as well as handling some of the standard equipment; including rescue boards and tubes.

After practicing how to stand up on the board and ‘ride a wave’ on the beach students head to the surf for the remainder of the session to try out their newfound skills.
